The most beautiful stage costumes of a much-missed singer

At the Palais Galliera, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, you can relive the glittering career of the legendary Egyptian-born singer, Dalida. Her loveliest outfits are presented for the delectation of her fans who, thirty years after her death, continue to perpetuate her memory. The Tour Saint-Jacques, a secret tower in the heart of Paris

You’ll find it’s well worthwhile to climb the 300 steps of the Tour Saint-Jacques in the Les Halles district. This Flamboyant Gothic style tower rises majestically some 52 metres above the square in which it stands. Open from June to October, it can be explored with a guide who will reveal all the secrets of its history. This striking building is the last vestige of the Church of Saint-Jacques de la Boucherie, built between 1509 and 1523, and demolished in 1797 during the French Revolution. For many years it was the starting point for pilgrims en route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain by the Turonensis (Tours) road. Some 18 statues of saints and elaborate gargoyles adorn the tower, which offers a breathtaking view over the roofs of Paris. Make the ascent of the Tour Saint-Jacques and discover a new perspective on the city.
