What to do in Paris in 2014, something for everyone

Just a five minute walk from the Hotel de l’Universite, the unique Museum of Letters and Manuscripts maintains a collection of fascinating documents. Two parallel and interlinked exhibitions run here until February 23rd dealing with writer, poet and filmmaker Jean Cocteau and the legendary singer Edith Piaf, friends and collaborators for over twenty years.

Just twenty minutes’ walk away is the Zadkine Museum. Enjoy a delightful thirty minute walk along the Seine to visit the inspiring Grand Palais and Cartier: Style and History. Live music and performance in Paris

If your interest is live music and performance, then Paris has a plethora of delights in store. The city which embraced jazz as an art form when the genre was considered vulgar elsewhere naturally boasts many wonderful jazz clubs. For opera and ballet lovers Paris offers superb venues such as the Opera Bastille and the Palais Garnier. Upcoming in 2014 are Madame Butterfly, La Boheme, Tristan and Isolde, La Traviata, performances by the Bolshoi Ballet and a wide selection of classical recitals and concerts.

Mainstream music enthusiasts will find plenty to keep them entertained at the legendary Olympia music hall. This venue, established in 1888, will in 2014 host performances by Joe Satriani, Enrico Macias, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Jamie Cullum, Carla Bruni, the Stranglers and many more.
