Discover an unusual race and taste French wines

March is a great month for you and your loved ones to enjoy a well-deserved break in Paris. There are two fun events in the capital this month that we would particularly like to tell you about: the unusual race called The Eiffel Tower Vertical, and an independent winemakers’ trade fair.

The Eiffel Tower Vertical; a crazy and demanding challenge

The craziest dream of athletes has finally come true. The Eiffel Tower Vertical on March 16th is a race to the top of the most famous Parisian landmark. The stairway of the great monument is ideally suited to this type of race, because it’s fully open to the outside world. Runners race up 324 vertical metres, over 1665 steps, and only the finest athletes can complete the course in under eight minutes. It’s incredibly physically and mentally challenging. Don’t miss it!

The pleasures of the palate at the Salon des Vins des Vignerons Indépendants

From March 24th to 27th, the Espace Champerret welcomes the Salon des Vins des Vignerons Independants, where you can discover nearly 600 vineyards and their new vintages. A wine buff’s journey through France, the fair invites you to taste the most beautiful cuvées of the wine regions of the country. These independent winemakers have adopted a charter that obliges them to respect, among other things, the traditions of winemaking and the terroir. Located on the left bank, the Hotel Université respects the tradition of providing guests with a pleasant and comfortable stay amidst a welcoming and elegant decor. Our hotel is housed in a magnificent 17th century building here in the heart of Saint-Germain des Prés. Furnished with taste, our upscale rooms are refined and well appointed.
