Orsay Museum few steps from Universite Hotel

Situated on the left bank of Paris, the Musée d’Orsay – organized on three levels – presents all the different kinds of art (architecture, painting, cinema, photographs etc.), forming a large panorama on the French and European art from 1848 to 1914. The Musée d’Orsay owns 6,000 works of art 3,000 of which are exposed. The rest is conserved in the storeroom. These works of art essentially come from the Musée du Louvre, the Musée du Jeu de Paume and the Musée National d’Art Moderne. The Musée d’Orsay has an auditorium and a restaurant where you can attend concerts dedicated to the prewar period. This very auditorium also welcomes film projections, conferences and debates around the themes related to the exhibitions of the time. Opening hours
  • From Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Late night opening on Thursdays until 9:45 p.m.
  • Every Monday, January 1st, May 1st, December 25th
Rates
  • Full fare: 8€
  • Reduced fare: 5.50€ -- for people between 18 and 25 out of the European Union, people between 26 and 30, for everyone from 4:15 p.m. (except on Thursdays), for everyone on Thursdays from 4 p.m.
  • Free for young people from 5 to 18, for people from 18 to 25 from the European Union, disabled people and their guide, jobseekers, members of the “Carte Blanche” and “Museo” card, members of the Société des Amis du Musée d’Orsay, children under 5, every first Sunday of the month.
